Glimmerglass Demonstrates Optical Layer Management, Reconfiguration Capabilities at Interop Tokyo ShowNet 2010

Tokyo, Japan, June 8, 2010 Glimmerglass Networks, the leading supplier of intelligent optical layer management solutions, today announced its participation in the 2010 ShowNet interoperability demonstration at Interop Tokyo 2010, taking place at Makuhari Messe, Tokyo, Japan, June 7-11. Glimmerglass will exhibit in partnership with its Japanese distributor, Nissho Electronics, in booth #4G14.

“Glimmerglass optical systems play a central role in one of the world’s largest MPLS networks, the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), where our solutions improve network reliability and minimize service interruptions for a network that sees peak activity of 950 Gb/s,” said Jeff Zindel, Glimmerglass Vice President of Marketing. “We look forward to participating in the ShowNet demonstration to illustrate the ability of Glimmerglass systems to rapidly and remotely manage optical paths. As networks worldwide continue to migrate to IP/MPLS networks, Cloud Computing and Virtualized Networks, our ability to create, reconfigure and monitor optical paths in real time will be increasingly valuable to managing this transition.”

With 140,000 expected attendees and 300 exhibiting companies, Interop Tokyo is focused on the interoperability of cutting edge network systems. ShowNet, a live demonstration comprised of exhibitor’s systems, will explore a range of current issues, including Managing Virtualized Networks, Cloud Computing and IPv6 Migration.
