Secure Networks

Glimmerglass supports multiple secure networks on the same fiber infrastructure.  The technology at the heart of the Glimmerglass Optical Switch uses an architecture which physically separates optical paths.  Furthermore, it enables the creation and reconfiguration of these paths with no electrical conversions. This means that independent networks can be managed via the same Glimmerglass Intelligent Optical Switch with little threat of compromising emanations.   

Photonic Multicasting

With Photonic Multicasting, one input can be optically split into multiple perfect copies and each copy can be connected to a separate output. The Photonic Multicasting units are offered as either a switched or a dedicated resource.  As a switched resource, any input can be selected as the Multicast input, and the Multicast outputs can be directed to any switch outputs.   All reconfigurations can be performed in milliseconds and remotely.
